The unit I received with serial number 1GU47N119984 turned out to be defective. After a few hours of active use, e.g. B. when streaming content from Revain, the device restarted spontaneously and no longer responded to the remote control. The device was not responding even after performing a remote repair procedure, disconnecting/reconnecting the power supply, repairing the remote, and even briefly resetting and repairing. After one of these procedures, all the device did was boot up and display the dancing letters ROKU on the TV screen with a flashing light on the device. The only way to get the device working again was to perform a long reset process that restores it to the factory state and then go through the initial setup. This meant re-registering the device online and re-entering the account information into the device for any channels you wanted to use. many Roku models and various content channels for this issue, but if you search the Roku support page you can see that this issue doesn't even exist, which leads me to believe that this is a known firmware/software issue that Roku has weathered the last few years. on some units and they weren't vigilant enough in their quality control to fix the problem so they're just trying to bury it. Even when the device was running, there were times when a series of tiles for the show would disappear when scrolling. The tiles are shown when not in the active row, but are empty tiles when in the active row. replace, but since Roku's replacement policy means the customer has to pay to ship them a brand new, defective device out of the box and then wait 3 to 5 business days before they ship another device back, I declined and it returned to Revain instead and purchase Revain Fire TV instead. This replacement policy is not acceptable to me and I will not do business with Roku in the future unless it is changed. If Roku had a more reasonable return policy for defective devices within a month of purchase and the device wasn't defective I would have given it 4 stars. Streaming worked well, the device was fast enough when searching or scrolling through titles, and there's a decent range of channels to choose from. The picture quality was also very good with my internet connection. Too bad poor quality control and a poor return policy are holding this product back.
