I didn't buy this toothbrush because of the whitening properties (activated carbon). I just wanted nice soft bristles for my teeth! This one definitely has good bristles, soft enough not to irritate your sensitive gums but not too soft to keep you from picking anything. The bristles aren't as wide as a traditional toothbrush, but they're packed with more bristles (more than the average toothbrush). ). The toothbrush is small enough for a child and may seem too small for an adult's mouth. I just want to know that you will be brushing your teeth, upper teeth/lower gums and gums separately as this brush is too small (in width) to cover large areas (like traditional toothbrushes). Other than the toothbrush being too narrow (not wide enough), I liked the toothbrush but wouldn't order it. Hope that helps :)
