I've never replaced one of these and it failed after about 15 seconds but that's probably because I didn't replace it with a new plug either. Both at the same time and everything works perfectly. I used it in Colorado in 2005. If you replace it, remove the glove box (3 - 10mm bolts and 2 valves). Use the 5.5mm jack on the two screws holding the resistor plug. Installing a mirror on a floorboard will save you hours of fiddling with it. UPDATE October 29, 2013 Still working great. Much better than the OEM part. I would also replace the connector if you are replacing the resistor.
