Confused with audio input

I have this product for OBS video recording but no matter what I try I can't get the audio to work? I could be doing something wrong but I followed all the instructions on the card that was in the box. I connected my Nintendo Switch to my laptop with video (and it works great! no lag) but there is no sound and I don't know what to do. Maybe I got a defective product?
