Review on 🚩 Camco 2-Inch Hitch Mount Flagpole Holder, Durable and Rust Resistant, Fits Standard Receivers - White Finish (51611) by Keith Howe

Suitable for fixed holders - not recommended for holding small diameter flags or driving on the road with the flag attached.

This product works well enough if you are looking for a stationary flag stand. But for driving with a flag on the street I would look for a different product. For those of you with a stock Jeep Wrangler, this should clear the rear tire. However, if you have a larger trunk or a wider spare, you will need to drill another hole to mount it. I had to drill this out to stick out about 1.5" more to clear my JCR Adventure trunk with 12.50" wide tires, but your individual application may vary. I ordered this because I needed a flag holder for a funeral trip and with a few modifications it served its purpose. I used a 1 1/4 diameter black iron pipe for the flagstick and attached it to the spare tire with a ratchet strap - I wouldn't trust the holder to hold the flag alone at highway speeds. Pros: - Works well for a stationary flag stand with about 2 inch diameter poles. Cons: - The threaded hole is just an M8 x 1.25 lock nut welded to the pipe. Since it's a lock nut, the threads don't have much depth and I found mine wasn't working properly so I turned the wrench that came with it. I had to cut the threads - The clamp screw wasn't long enough to tighten flagpoles less than 2" in diameter. I had to purchase an M8 x 1.25 bolt to access the smaller diameter post. Welds were adequate but not full length. Weld about 1" at two points on either side of the triangular brace, but fully welded where the round tube meets the square tube. The metal is 14 caliber (.0747 in) thick, which appears thin. My receiver and required that Using an anti-rattle clutch to lock it securely in place Overall Impression: It served the purpose right away when I didn't have time to make my own, however I would not recommend this product if you are planning on building a flagpole with one Less than 2" in diameter, or if you plan to fly a flag while driving. in a pile of scrap steel.
