I originally bought a 4000k version of these lamps for my bedroom, they immediately lit up like a bright day. I'm switching them to the 2700k version. I'm by no means a handy person, so those with two left feet or all thumbs will appreciate the ease with which they step up. All you need is a ladder. You screw in the lamp adapter, tighten the springs and insert it into the recessed light. I think it took me three minutes. The 2700k lighting is much softer, I have moved the 4000k to my kitchen where I appreciate more lighting for cooking.
