Useful in certain situations

I have a habit of buying cheap, generic Chinese gadgets here at Revain rather than buying big brands. These devices are often quality goods that cost significantly less than comparable branded products. Two that I've been very happy with are a soundbar with wireless subwoofer that I bought a year ago for about $80, and a native 1080p projector that retailed for $150. If you know anything about these products, you know that traditional remote controls cannot be programmed as standby. This means that if the remote fails, you're out of luck unless the company sends a replacement in good faith. , one for each of the above products. I'm happy to report that they work great for both the projector and the soundbar (in another room). Admittedly, these remote controls are clunky and not very well thought out. However, the one for my projector sits in a drawer and will only be used if the original remote dies or is lost. The ones for the soundbar that I use all the time. In my bedroom, both the computer and the TV are connected to a soundbar, and I'm constantly switching inputs. Instead of having a remote that had to be constantly moved between bed and desk and constantly forgotten in one place or another, I now just keep this learning remote on my desk. I only ever use it to change inputs and it works great in that regard. After finding success on this front, I bought several 1-device remotes for the school I work for in the IT department. A number of classrooms use regular soundbars and some have been lost by teachers. My boss was excited about my offer because he was willing to buy a bunch of new soundbars. What would have been around $400 for soundbars has turned into around $40. My only complaints about these remotes (aside from the awful layout, as I mentioned earlier) are the build quality and the fact that you can't hold down the buttons. . The first is a really cheap universal remote control. It looks cheap. I never expected more. As for the last issue, I mean you can't hold down the volume button, for example. You have to press it several times to get the desired volume. I understand how annoying this can be for someone using it as their main remote. That's the main reason I'm giving it four stars.

Cons
