I needed to replace the trunk switch on my 2008 Subaru STI sunroof. I noticed that this part looked suspiciously like my OEM switch so I took a chance and ordered this part as it is half the price of a Subaru OEM part. The connector is exactly the same, the rubber boot fits through, the switch fits into the slot with no modifications, and the wires are long enough to reach the stock wiring harness (note: the wires are shorter than Subaru's but still reachable). The OEM part has a wire clip near the wiring harness so I moved the zip tie with a pick to lift and remove the pawl. The switch cover is hard plastic, not rubberized like OEM. That's good for me, because the initial rubberiness has turned into a sticky mass over the years. That's why I replaced it.
