Honest review! This filter works great. Not 5 stars but I like it! This filter goes well with my Oscar cymbal. It's able to filter out a ton of that massive amount that my year-old Oscar throws in the trash. An annoying hum comes from the top cover. Just touch it and it will go away for a few days or more. Not exactly a massive problem. It's not quiet either. You can say it works. I updated this model for additional filtration and immediately noticed a change in the cleanliness of my water. The suction power was good enough. In any case, I change the water and clean often, so I didn't need a vacuum. Filters get dirty quickly. That's positive because it means he's doing his job. The final word will be that you have to watch out for the power failure or the larger fish could hit the filter inlet and knock it out. Easy to repair and put back, but apparently it can interfere with the engine. My Oscar sometimes hits it and it makes an insanely loud noise. So I know exactly when it happens. Easy to install and use. Easy to clean. Simple big filter. If you are a fish keeper this is a reliable filter. Nothing shouting. Easy to use. Give him a chance!
