Review on PortoVino City Tote Black Fashionable by Dawn Thompson

Great idea but not great design

Port Vino can be made into a beautiful, durable bag for wine and liquor. I like this idea. I think it would be fun to drink lemonade while on a cruise. But since the idea is to sneak into the booze, it should have been done more subtly. It features a prominent Porto Vino logo centered at the top front. Hm. Maybe just a PV logo would have been better. And the zip in the compartment where the insulated wine/beverage bag is placed is clearly visible from the inside, so if the 'inspector' wants to open everything, your hiding place is there. Then the hole from which the spout comes out is also very noticeable. I modified mine to make a felt magazine pouch that zips up, so I turn my homemade magazine pouch upside down, pop a bag of alcohol in it, then flip the pouch back up to the zipper and add a magazine or two added, so the "Inspector" magazine feel, but no bag of liquor. And I've added a strip of matching but contrasting fabric across the bottom quarter of the pocket on the faucet side. I used heavy duty fabric glue to attach it to the top, sides, and center of the strip of fabric, but not at the bottom next to the faucet, so I could still access the faucet, but its location is undetectable. I wish my Port Vino had these upgrades, but the whole thing took me less than an hour and maybe $5 in supplies, so I'm happy with my finished project. For your health!

Pros
  • FUNCTIONAL DESIGN FOR ON THE GO - 2 lined side pockets, the only wine bag stylish enough to be used with or without a hydration pouch. A fully functional bag with a stylishly lined interior and side pockets, roomy enough to fit a full 1.5L bag in a hidden compartment for items and essentials. NOT just a cooler bag with a beautiful appearance! Great for movies, nights out with friends, park concerts, women's beach accessories, pool, shopping, festivals, golf, you name it!
Cons
  • Many things
