I'm a professional video editor and producer. My primary editing platform is a high-end Dell computer with a Realtek-based 5.1 sound card. After the last Windows update (I lost the version number) the card stopped working in 5.1 mode. I actually bought this card to add an optical audio input to my laptop, but damn it, I plugged it into my desktop. It works great in both stereo and 5.1 surround sound. I wish I had discovered this product sooner as it would have saved me hours of struggling with drivers for a Realtek device. Now I need another one! Highly recommended.
