Dealer level tool is the best in tools

First of all the instructions are missing. I've scoured the web for a few simple things, but found the answers myself, tool in hand. I troubleshooted a car with a TPMS light. I used the tool on each wheel and found that all sensors were working, battery level was ok etc. This was a confusing result as I assumed the system consisted of 4 tire sensors and a computer. My next guess was that I could connect to the OBD2 port and communicate that way, and what I would see is what the car's computer saw on the TPMS output. That said, I thought since the sensors are ok I'll look at the computer and see that for example 3 sensors are working and 1 isn't working. So I plugged it into the OBD2 port, turned the key to the 'on' position and tried to read the sensors. This *DOES NOT WORK* as the gauge will only read when you are close to the TPMS. The correct order is to go to all four tires and read the sensors, then get in the car, plug the tool into the OBD2 port, *START* the car ("On" was the wrong position, "Working ' war) and then you can read the codes stored on the computer connected to TPMS. In my case it was VSS, I cleaned the code and it didn't come back. It ended up being frustrating to figure out, but once figured out, the tool is very easy to use. Can't comment on the programmable sensors themselves as I haven't used them yet as they weren't part of my original problem. It *ONLY* reads TPMS when the instrument is physically near the sensor. I have the impression that if you
