How bad can it be?
Setting the timer to 60 minutes and then to a shorter time, say 8 minutes, seems to work. Countdown to random time. Luckily, the countdown timer is pretty loud and obnoxious, making it easy to spot the stop. Usually, when the timer reaches the set time, it will actually ring before continuing its loud ticking for another 30 seconds or so. however durable.
