Get your own tape, velcro or straps as the tape provided is lame and almost useless. The foam itself is very strong and is intended to protect a person in the event of an accident. If you press your finger with all your strength, the foam almost does not give. This material is intended to reduce the risk of broken bones in an accident, not to provide "comfort". It is marked SFI 45.1 USI. The outer dimensions in the form of a "box" are almost 1.25 x 1.75 x 36 inches. The trunk cutout is approximately 0.5" deep and 1.5" wide. At its thickest point, the foam is approximately 0.75 inches thick. It flexes enough to fit a 90 degree bent bar with a radius no more than 6-8 inches.
