I work with electronics at home, church, and work. A while ago I bought some 0.1" PCB solder in screw pads from Sparkfun for a home project. You are close enough to the gap on the board. The distance between the boards does not correspond to the norm. The board also doesn't have good mounting options, no holes or other fixed means. The IC operates as specified in the manufacturer's data sheet. There are no mute or power off markings on the circuit board, so there is a tendency for the speaker to pop when turning on and off. I use it to power some used JVC speakers I got for $5. As long as the volume of the source does not bring the amplifier into the distortion range of the diagrams specified in the microcircuit datasheet, the sound will sound clear. For my 5V and 4 ohm setup the limit was 2W. 2 watts per channel is enough for general garage music and video. I'll give them 5 stars if you improve the board.
