love it. just as described. Using a 4.2V lithium battery, I have a tiny package that produces loud enough volume. Loud enough to use instead of headphones. very efficient on batteries. The current consumption in standby mode is 13 mA.

I tried to build a small amplifier for my Raspberry Pi arcade project with separate components but it was loud and not loud enough. This module is great. It's money well spent and saved me a headache.

Be careful when soldering. I toasted 2 before I got the hang of it (I'm new to soldering) but when I did these things were amazing. They don't work well with 2 x 4 ohm speakers above half volume, but a single 4 ohm or 2 x 8 ohm speaker will sound great with them. Also works better on 5V. But at 5v with 2 x 8 ohm speakers you won't believe this brand sized amp is powering your stereo. The stereo I made sounds just as good and loud at full volume as my car stereo does at 60%. And my car has 2 6x9

I work with electronics at home, church, and work. A while ago I bought some 0.1" PCB solder in screw pads from Sparkfun for a home project. You are close enough to the gap on the board. The distance between the boards does not correspond to the norm. The board also doesn't have good mounting options, no holes or other fixed means. They work reasonably well and can get a lot of sound through the speaker even when powered at 3.3V Four stars are given for three reasons only: 1) The mute and power off pins are not defective output - I had to raise the pin on the chip and add a jumper to access it. 2) The distance between the holes doesn't exactly match the layout when it was that simple. 3) The DC blocking capacitors appear to be huge, giving an RC time constant well in excess of what is required for "bass response".
