Review on Improved General Tools IRT659K Thermometer with Thermocouple by Will Kern

My health inspector recommended this type of thermometer with a thermocouple, so I got this one. It can do a lot more than what I need it for (I use it to check the temperature of food), but since it's so important I didn't want to buy too cheaply. That works great. Once you get the hang of it, you'll want to photograph all sorts of objects to see how hot/cold they are. The measured value is displayed immediately and on a large, easy-to-read display. Gives average preliminary readings and you have a thermocouple to stick in food to measure internal temperature. It feels very well made and will likely last a long time. Come with a nice case too.
