Review on XPEL TW6T40 Tracwrap Temporary Protection by Vincent Blitz

Works great but expensive

Feature: Yes Tracwrap works no doubt. I autocross with big sticky tires and I tend to throw rocks at the paint causing chipping. I had ZERO chips where I placed the tape. I have installed and used it on track, track and street with no problems. Cost: It's expensive. Let's face it, you're paying to prevent paint chipping, so it's worth it. Unfortunately, this is not a permanent solution, so the cost per use increases quickly. The long-term solution is to attach a permanently installed paint protection film. I would just use this to determine where you need permanent film and then hire a local shop to install it to take care of those recurring costs. Installation: The film is not difficult to apply and after 3-4 times I saw "what works" on my machine and the curves where I install. The "tool" (a piece of plastic with a piece of felt glued to it) works well for removing bubbles. Wrinkles are NOT removed. You'll have to stretch the foil a bit when you lay it down, but you don't want to stretch the foil. A delicate balance is required, but it's not difficult to understand. You should start with a clean surface and I will work with small pieces (3ft max) the first few times you use this. Once you feel the difference between tension and stretch, you can cut longer pieces if needed and get an almost invisible setup.
