The old version is not only stronger but also has a comfortable hollow core - the new version is closed at the bottom and if you put it in the dishwasher it will fill with water and won't drain! I had to drill holes in the bottom to attach it and get rid of the rancid water that had collected there. The old version is also much heavier and stronger, with a better and thicker rubber rim. It's much better than the Oxo version, but I'm disappointed that the quality isn't as good. Buyer Warning!
