Slightly yellowish, which is to be expected since the seller rates them at 2600K color temperature. You can use 60 watts, but the light output is significantly lower, more like a traditional 40 watt incandescent bulb. Bought these for use in bathroom wall lights and for that purpose the warm colored light works very well. There is no problem dimming these bulbs and the light output is completely linear from brightest to darkest.
