I was old school and made my own root tabs for many years. Over the past year or two I've seen a lot of hype about Colin's Thrive Liquid Enzyme on Facebook groups and decided to try his tabs to see if they work better than my own. So far I haven't been able to tell any difference between my plants and my home-made root tabs. For me it's actually more of a PITA because there's often air in the pods. So if they escape me when I try to lean into tall tanks, they immediately swim back to the surface. When I grab them again, the capsules are already sticky and I have to rush to dip them into the substrate. Probably not difficult in small/shallow tanks, but still more of a hassle than my own tablets in deep tanks. I'll keep this bottle in my "rainy day" locker, but I'll go back to using my stuff.
