🐠 ThriveCaps - Aquarium Root Tab/Caps - NA Premium Root Caps 60 Count (1g Each) Review

I've added them twice and won't add them again. Both times I had huge nitrate spikes that took weeks to clear up. I followed all the instructions including sticking it deep into the substrate (I have sand). I used fewer tabs than recommended. Beware.

Started using these instead of liquid fertilizer as I don't use C02, liquid fertilizer caused horrible algae outbreaks. These capsules have increased my plant growth exponentially and reduced algae growth. My only complaint is that the pods are very difficult to bury in the bottom of a full tank, they like to torpedo out of the bottom and when they get wet they are almost impossible to hold.

You have all the nutrients your plants need. I use it, but not without problems. If you apply them according to the directions, they tend to spread and come out of the substrate due to the air trapped in the capsule. I poke holes in the ends of the pods, but even so, the pod sometimes crawls to the surface, leaving a small bluish bubble sticking out of the substrate. The plants seem to like it, but I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble. Still working on a referral, give me another month.

Definitely good for my plants - I have active substrate and underdosed ThriveS in the water column, and root eaters around where I dug my initial (rarely used) hats feel better than their peers. I bought these hoping to get a cheaper option than colored root tabs. I was wrong, you get what you pay for. Just buy a growing medium. These pods were dug about 2.5 inches under the river's fine gravel, and after a day or two a strange slimy lump emerged from among the plants. They never seemed to do what I needed. Imagine a gelatin capsule that contains cool stuff but also contains some air so it tries to float no matter how deep you push it into the rocks. Was looking for an alternative to Seachem root tablets as they release calcium into the water when dissolved and increase water hardness (GH). After researching I decided to try these tablets as to my knowledge they do not contain any calcium. I've added the recommended amount to 3 of my tanks: 2 established tanks and 1 new one.
