I was warned that if I filled the finch feeder with Audubon Quality Nyjer seeds I would see an explosion of ravenous birds. It was beyond amazing. Yellow bellies, black and white striped tails, black heads, ground jumpers are hungry, angry, happy birds. And sloppy. The ground under the feeder turns black from fallen seeds, more than the "bottom bins" can use. This is the only downside. The feeder should be positioned over an area where large piles of tiny seeds can fall without creating an annoying mess. Fill the feeder and watch the squall - great fun.
