Disconnect BOTH ends of the cable, plug in the adapters BEFORE you turn on the power or very bad things can happen

The first install is perfect. Second Setup I casually plugged in the power on one side before unplugging the AT&T cable modem on the other side. Melting has occurred in the modem. Turned off immediately. the modem still works (fingers crossed). Haven't tried it yet, but I guess you have to be very careful connecting the adapters to BOTH sides of the cable BEFORE using POE or face to face with magic smoke. Very important!
