I bought this for my wife. She tends to forget how to handle and remove hot food from the oven. We're both former chefs, so we're forgetting how hot it can really be. We also wanted something that would allow us to hold items easily and protect our shoulders. A little bit more. Well it worked. She handled the hottest stuff from the stove and oven with no problem. Problems: I wish they were a bit taller. Depending on the length of your arms and the depth at which you pull items out of the oven, you can still burn your shoulder if you're not careful. The part that goes around the arm is very tight. First. but it weakens with repeated use. They should say it more clearly as my wife was initially discouraged by how snug they were and struggled to pull them up as high as possible. All in all a great product. Hot food skillfully makes all the difference in the world.
