Difficult to use yarn

In search of the best yarn I tested over 12 types and this yarn was definitely the best of them all but it has its own difficulties. First, it stretches as you sew. This is both a good thing as it prevents the thread from breaking easily, and a bad thing as the stretch will automatically pull together any delicate fabrics you are trying to sew no matter how you set the tension on your machine. I bought this yarn for fine fabrics so it wasn't possible. The difficulty with using this thread for hand sewing is that the stitches appear to "jump" and not lie flat, making it very difficult to maintain good tension. . Imagine a very thin fishing line, this thread is similar to this one. It also doesn't stain at all, I thought the "cotton" portion would help me in that regard, but keep in mind that it definitely behaves like polyester in every way. While trying to find a good use for this thread I settled on the Superior Threads Bottom Line for everyday sewing - it's thin enough not to stretch. For fine hand sewing I would recommend using Aurifil 80wt 100% cotton instead.
