Description of 🧵 WonderFil InvisaFil 100wt 2-Ply Silk-Like Thread – Sky Grey 2500m | Fine Sewing Specialty Threads

THE FINEST SPECIALTY THREAD - The InvisaFil Specialty Thread is the finest thread line from WonderFil. It is a silk-like 100wt, 2-ply cottonized polyester. MAKE YOUR STITCHES INVISIBLE - Ultra-fine thread creates super low bulk stitches and virtually “disappears”. Crafted for whenever you want to hide stitches, such as English paper piercing, delicate lace designs, and fine fabrics. STURDY & DURABLE - Fine thread is surprisingly strong in addition to being cotton-like with negligible stretch. Enjoy the soft feel of this silk-like thread for stitches that are hardly noticeable. WIDE VARIETY OF COLORS - Available in a wide variety of colors, from subtle to bright with matte finish. Choose a color for any occasion, you decide how much you want the thread to show (or not at all). MULTIPURPOSE - Suggested uses include: stitch in the ditch, top and bottom thread, bottom thread for delicate machine embroidery, hand and machine appliqué, free motion quilting, stippling, English paper piecing.

very thin - difficult to work with

This thread does exactly what it says on the tin - an almost invisible connection of EPP parts BUT I have arthritic fingers and find it difficult to hold the thread and to control. I would buy it again if I still had dexterity.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • sad packaging

Amazing for coils! Long work

This thread is amazing in my Juki2010 sewing machine. This ultra-thin, super-strong filament will add an hour or two to the life of your coils! Love how it interacts with the Aurafil thread above. The seams look great. Packs twice as much thread into one spool. :)

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No work

wanted to love it

I bought this yarn because another quilter recommended it to me. My sewing machine (Janome 7700) hates this thread - it snaps and snaps - and that doesn't happen with other threads I use for quilting. I wanted to love this because I'd like to have a "disappearing" quilting thread, but it's not for me. (I wanted it so bad I bought it in 2 colors!)

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Fine

Difficult to use yarn

In search of the best yarn I tested over 12 types and this yarn was definitely the best of them all but it has its own difficulties. First, it stretches as you sew. This is both a good thing as it prevents the thread from breaking easily, and a bad thing as the stretch will automatically pull together any delicate fabrics you are trying to sew no matter how you set the tension on your machine. I bought this yarn for fine fabrics so it wasn't possible. The difficulty with using this thread for…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor instructions
