I used these earplugs in the shower because I hadn't swum before but now I plan to do so on occasion. They stopped the water from entering my ears. Also, I turned on background music to see how quiet they are and they blocked the music as well. I recommend these if you have sensitive ears to water. They also came in a small pouch which was useful to keep them from getting lost. The only problem I had with it, but I'm sure all earbuds are like that, I had trouble getting them in my ears at first, it took some getting used to. After practicing, they fit perfectly.
