Review on GriAddict Brazilian BBQ Skewers Hack: Ultimate Al Pastor Stick & Gyro Spit Shawarma Stand for Oven by Rachel Ford

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good but will not lay flat on a flat surface

Like the stainless steel, like the thick stem compared to others I've looked at. Not much threaded nut on the bottom of the plate. It's tack welded and seems reliable, but surprised that a) it was a full seam weld so the food is pretty hard to clean while baking; and b) with a threaded nut on the bottom if you want to use it in a pan in the oven it won't sit flat. Others screw directly into the threaded port, creating a seamless connection. Not critical as I use it outside on the BBQ but in my unofficial opinion the best design would be to at least have it threaded at the top to create a flat seat. And one more thing: as with all new kitchen utensils, especially if they are made of metal, CLEAN THOROUGHLY. There was a small amount of fat around the inside rim and under the pan where it rolled. Liquid dawn and good power removed it, followed by a 20 minute bake at 500F.

Pros
  • MADE FROM 304 STAINLESS STEEL - Many great benefits such as increased strength, superior heat resistance ensure long life and cleaning is very easy which is safe enough for food contact;
Cons
  • Cleanliness
