So the first set of headlights that we received was defective. They didn't turn on out of the box. But amazon immediately sent us another set with no problems, arrived in two days. The second set works great. However, I will say that if your deck or whatever you are attaching them to is very windy, you might want to get other clips to hold these lights. I had a hard time aligning them because when I tightened them the wire popped out of the plastic clips forcing me to thread them back through. The light is nice and bright and there's also a dimming option which is pretty cool. . There are a variety of colors to choose from. and a few preset color options that are pretty neat. There is also a "Fade" option that cycles through all colors and a speed button that applies to them and to each preset color. We tend to leave ours with the slowest rate of decay. It's the best of everything. There are few things I don't like. First, there is a "custom" button option that either doesn't work or I just can't figure out. But there's no crap for instructions. It would definitely be nice to be able to customize your own colors, but the fact that this doesn't work isn't a complete deal breaker. Second, it's listed as waterproof, and cables can be. but the white box containing the infrared unit for the remote control and the manual toggle button are clearly not the same. We are currently trying to find a solution to make this box waterproof without affecting remote usage. We have this on our deck in Connecticut, so it's going to rain a lot in the summer and snow in the winter. All in all we enjoy them. They have a nice vibe on the lowest brightness setting for intimate nights, and the brightest setting is great for parties. I just hope they survive the elements.
