But it works. for computers and accessories

When using Pi 3B+, the Pi WiFi fails when I mount the board under the Pi according to the instructions. In my case stacking on top of the Pi is really not an option since I have a fan installed there and an XBee on top of it. In any case, remove the USB connector, which will remove power from the board and the problem will be solved. Turn it on and the problem will return. Everything else works with no issues, and while I haven't tried it, I have no reason to believe Ethernet isn't working (I don't know about Blue Tooth). I suspect the problem is electrical (radio) interference caused by the SSD card being physically too close to the Pi WiFi radio antenna, but I still have some testing to do. I'll probably update this review when I know more. By the way, I'm using a 250GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD with a card. To update. If I slide the card directly under the Pi (there is an X720 UPS between the Pi and this card), the WiFi improves significantly. This of course leaves the USB jumper unusable, so I have to make a new one. More. GeekWorm tells me it's radio interference, but the problem only occurs on a Samsung SSD (250GB 860 EVO). Assuming no magic is going on here, I find it hard to believe, but without another SSD module to test I can't prove anything. What I've done so far is slide the card under the UPS, which is now mounted directly underneath the Pi, and rotate it so the ground plane of the board is between the SSD and the Pi. I've been busy getting the project software to my satisfaction, so I haven't tested the board at this point.

Pros
  • Not only usable for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Compatibility
