When using Pi 3B+, the Pi WiFi fails when I mount the board under the Pi according to the instructions. In my case stacking on top of the Pi is really not an option since I have a fan installed there and an XBee on top of it. In any case, remove the USB connector, which will remove power from the board and the problem will be solved. Turn it on and the problem will return. I use this as the only drive in my Raspberry Pi (no SD card). Plugged the drive into my PC, formatted the drive to FAT32, put the NOOBS files on the drive, plugged the drive into my Pi and booted it up. Multiple operating systems installed on the SSD with no problems. Reloads well. I should have researched more. The MSATA board interferes with the WLAN and should actually have its own power supply. Didn't live up to expectations as it didn't help to free up space between the board and the RPi. It is advertised as USB3.0 but USB 3.0 is not available on RPi3. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get this to work on an RPi3 at some point (I also have a Dogfish SSD), but the documentation is patchy.
