These pedals are EXCELLENT. After enjoying my JorotoX2 spin bike with a stock OG pedal (toe box, no SPD) for 3 months, I decided I really wanted to get a shoe/pedal clip. When trying to figure out if I should upgrade the pedals, I remember having a hard time deciding between the many SPD/cage combo pedal options. I couldn't imagine what the differences were and if it was worth the money to upgrade. I tried to take as many shots as possible and compare the two pedals. In my photos, the original pedal has RED markings, but this improved SPD combo pedal has BLUE markings. I hope this helps someone! I'm no bike maintenance expert, but they were very easy to change (just remember the left pedal unscrews again!). The platform of this pedal is actually flat, which makes it more comfortable to use than the OG Joroto X2 pedals. It's also slightly larger, making it safer. (SEE PHOTO). To be honest I would recommend replacing the OG pedals with these even if you are not ready to invest in clip on shoes just yet! Definitely a sensible and affordable upgrade! The SPD clamp on the side works fine. I have two roommates (one of whom is a bike pro) and he told me these are quality pedals! The best thing is that there are two of us who can use the clip on the side and a third roommate (who didn't want to invest in SPD cleats) can still use the bike comfortably! (Also because I had to look for this when trying to upgrade my pedals - this pedal size is the standard size and will fit all major spin bikes, NOT JOROTO BIKES!) I'm definitely still improving my spin technique. , but the shoe clip definitely makes it easier to reach and maintain higher cadence intervals (100+) during streaming rotation sessions (Peloton app). When you focus on "stroking the floor" rather than "pushing down," you can target more different muscles! BENEFITS: - Flat platform pedal is more comfortable - Large platform pedal is safer - All black design looks more attractive on IMO bikes - SPD allows for higher cadence and better pedaling technique - SPD/toe cage/standard combo platform offers versatility for many users - Available VS: No. **Note: After installing these pedals, I waited two weeks to use them almost every day to write this review!
