Review on FIIL CANVIIS Cancelling Headphones White by Joseph Hall

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Great sound and active noise cancellation, but poor build quality

UPDATE: Downgraded to 2 stars. These headphones lasted me less than 2 years. Outwardly, they look very solid, but the right speaker began to fail and eventually died completely. Probably loose solder joints or a damaged cable. I switched to Sony WH-1000XM3 which are much more expensive but also more secure. Below is my first review in case anyone is interested in a decent but somewhat disposable device. The Fiil Canviis headphones are pretty good overall. The noise cancellation works really well to muffle cars/buses when walking down the street, not to mention completely canceling out the A/C noise. Open mode is a bit odd, but it works well when you need to be aware of your surroundings (you hear the world around you mainly through your speakers, which allows more outside noise to reach your ears than if you turned NC off). passive noise reduction). The sound quality is also quite good with a wide frequency range and balanced bass and treble. Using voice commands is pretty bad. I couldn't really use the Google Now button, but I don't mind that. Actually, I'm only giving this 4 stars because of the app. It's poorly translated and may use some easy-to-implement features like a widget to toggle between MAF modes. None of these issues are critical, but I'd like to see improvements.
