Not if you want a good antenna.

Sold as a CB antenna. Good antennas are slightly longer than the AM band, 26.2-27.5 MHz, also known as the 11 meter band. Why longer? Because in order to tune the antenna, it is usually shortened. Adding an antenna is difficult to say the least. I owned this antenna for 2.5 hours. MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION: The damn antenna was TOO SHORT! Its standing wave ratio ("fall") was square in the 20 meter band at 28.0 MHz! What a freak, Wilson? [The shorter the antenna, the higher the frequency it resonates at.] The antenna itself is a constant diameter stainless steel wire. It went freely into the hole and the set screw was the only thing holding it in place. (I sealed it with epoxy.) Usually a good antenna has a cone and fits snugly on the base. I'm not sure if the set screw will hold the antenna in the wind as it couldn't be tightened very well. The supplied Allen key was too small! He turned and began slipping through the hole. Thank God I have good tools and knowledge. Finally, I did the setup by placing the antenna on the table saw for grounding. Now the table saw is designed so that the tree can slide over it without damaging it. However, look at the picture of the base of this thing! It was never anywhere but on the steel plate of this saw. What is that shitty butt? And what is he doing with the paint? When I got it it wasn't broken, it was just moved to the edge of the table saw and it broke like that. I have some tape to stick it on, but it should be entirely unnecessary. FEATURES: First I bought a tiny brass tube which I enlarged a bit so I could hammer it over the antenna. Yes you can extend the antenna if you know what you are doing. I started testing and tuning the antenna. I'm a radio amateur, so I have a really good antenna tester. I carefully trimmed the antenna until the dip was in the middle of the 11m band/middle of the 26.85MHz CB band. Pay attention to the chart. The best I could get was a 1.45:1 ratio! Both ends of the range were 3.14:1 or better! It's pretty awful. The edges of the range should be much lower and the dip should be about 1:1. The ONLY reason this antenna was not returned immediately is because I need it for a trip starting in 4 days. Wilson should be able to do better. They have been in the CB market for many years. This piece of shit from China isn't worth the name. DO NOT purchase this antenna unless you have the time and knowledge to do what I did. Well, not even then, because it doesn't adapt 1:1.
