It works like a barrier

We have a Golden Retriever who usually wants to walk in front of us. When she does, we stop the car and she gets back in the back seat of our SUV. Most of the time she is left with a barrier. She can stick her head in to get closer to us. Now we found out that she can get in touch if she wants. The barrier is more of a sight that tells her where she is. And if she's in front, she can jump over him and get hit from behind.
