The product is the most common, it could be worse.
The lens is neither fish nor meat. With a completely ordinary picture for fixation. Not genre like 35 and still not portrait like 85. I love this focal length as a convenient alternative to 85. Good for outdoor or indoor portraits. Often smears AF. It does not work on an open hole, image degradation and vignetting appear. I use with D700 12 mp. It happens that you have to stretch the frame in post-processing. In general, I'm satisfied with half a dozen. Budget and allows you to make good, creative shots. If there is a choice, take 58. Definitely take 58.
