Review on ๐Ÿ’ช Enhanced Performance: Genuine Bondtech BMG Extruder EXT BMG โ€“ Unleash Precision and Reliability! by Scoony Taker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great extruder but expensive

Original BMG in excellent quality and works great. I use it in a direct drive setup on my Ender 5 with a Micro Swiss clone hotend. I bought it months in advance to replace a bmg clone that wasn't working properly and I didn't want to change my printhead configuration. Turns out something else in the setup was the problem and the clone is still fine. I'm using clones on an Ender 3 printer to this day and I have to say clones are way better, especially on cheap printers like the ones I have. The design isn't identical (Bondtech is denser and more complex; the clone uses simplified geometry and internals), and the quality of the gears and tolerances on other parts are much sloppy on the clone. However, the print results are exactly the same when using a fraction of the price ($15). I didn't notice any difference in terms of extrusion quality or the use of flexible filaments between the two setups, where the hotend configurations are identical except for the extruders. Maybe a real BMG will last longer, but I still have hundreds of hours of printing on the clone and it's holding up. I don't like to praise such a fake, but given the enormous price difference with almost the same performance, it would be nice if Bondtech could offer something comparable at a lower price.
