These hats are made for sun protection, first and foremost. I live in Florida where we desperately need sun protection all year round. The thing about these…the brim is dark charcoal on the top. They should be reversed; with the charcoal on the underside of the brim and the color on the full top of the hat and brim. Why would you wear an almost black hat in the sun? You may, however, have a dark color on the underside to cut back on glare and reflection to your face. I believe these were reversed by mistake and production continued in the incorrect way.
