Review on πŸ”’ Ultimate PC Security: Kensington 64196 Security MicroSaver Computer Lock with Alarm by Aaron Schultz

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not good with 13.3 inch Macbook (CENSORED!)

After writing a review on this alarm and playing around with the lock a little more because I spent enough money on where I really would do the job I would like to add 3 stars to the rating. That's why. The alarm clock comes with a padded black base for a lock that "plugs" into the Macbook and secures the seat. However, I took it off and the lock did NOT deform the side cover! I thought it used to be warped due to a poor fit, so I put the black base back on and pushed it into the lock really hard (not too tight), and twisted the lock, and voila! The lock fitted perfectly, without strong ones I will not sell this item again. Thank God for your curiosity and perseverance. And now I can say with confidence - this lock! However, my $1,500 MacBook doesn't look like $1,500. =( But learn and move on. =D) -- old review -- I agree with some people's comments about Kensington alarms for Macbooks, although I wish I had read them before buying this lock. This deformed the plastic side and took me a while to lock/unlock it. The 1 star is supposed to make at least a good laptop alarm lock but I was very disappointed when the plastic warped every time I installed the lock on my Macbook. Unfortunately I need it for a cruise I'm taking next week, but I'll resell it as 'used' and 'anti-Macbook 13' when I get home. If you have a 13-inch series Macbook, it seems that Kensington locks are not recommended for you just yet.
