The ice cube tray keeps its shape when filled with water. It is easy to carry without spilling water everywhere. I was happy to have 2.5 inch ice cubes. However, when I added ice cubes to my cup, some white sediment floated up and stuck to the inside of my cup. I washed the cup as well as the ice cubes + ice tray (just in case it's something white from the ice tray). After 2 cycles of making ice cubes, white precipitates still appeared. The third time I washed the tray in the dishwasher and I hope everything works out the third time. The buyer should be aware of this. Updated: 12-9-2021 Less white precipitate fell after I tossed the ice tray in the dishwasher, but still not much. Unfortunately, I still wash my ice cubes before using them.
