Very nice turntable

Very nice turntable. I love it. I went with the cheaper unit because I wanted to replace the cartridge immediately, so I spent my savings on this purchase (Audio-Technica VM540ML/H). Also, the black finish looks better with other components. I've looked at all the other devices, including very expensive ones, but I really don't think I'll hear a difference between this device and the expensive ones, especially given the quiet, understated music I like. In addition, this device is equipped with a cue lever and will automatically stop at the end of the music but will not return. The cost of these improvements is negligible, but they significantly affect my enjoyment. More expensive devices seem to have removed any enhancements that make listening more enjoyable. Paying a lot more for a lot less is a dubious decision. I hear all the arguments to the contrary and just don't buy them. Do we buy things to increase our enjoyment of life, or do we buy features and boasts? I'd rather pay for the first one. I am very happy with this turntable. The only negative is the phone scene. It's better than my stereo, but not even as good as a cheaper third-party unit. I highly recommend this device.
