These styli have been micrometer tested for accuracy. Unfortunately, the product as a whole falls into the cheap craftsmanship category. Stomping on the tentacles is eye strain at best. That doesn't mean the cheap plastic nut holding the book together will break and just fall apart over the air intake. There's nothing more frustrating than having to find a way to remove the plastic parts of a disintegrating tool that got lost in an engine because it's a cheap tool. It fell apart and I was lucky the nut didn't go deep into my timing case. I was very happy. The tool nearly ruined the engine from falling apart, but it accurately measures the gaps.
