Powerful and durable! Large Canister Light

I dive all the time so I'm always looking for a good light with a strong beam and long life. I had never used a canister lantern before so I knew it would be different. I love when everything I need comes with new gear. This flashlight separates the battery compartment (ie the heavier part of the flashlight) from the bulb with a cable. Great concept because everyone hates when their hand gets tired holding the light and trying to work with the camera. Let's face it, this is a great canister light, but it's a canister light so it will take some time to get used to if you don't normally. Use canister light. Here's what I did. Attached a piece of the canister to the front of my BC (it has a handy clip on the canister for attaching a 2" strap), routed the cord across my chest and under the BC strap on the other side near my shoulder. This gives me access to the buttons on the canister and allows me to minimize the amount of cable that is away from my body. A simple snorkel strap on my arm additionally keeps the line tight and helps keep the light part next to my arm in an easy-to-access place. You might want to add a pullman handle to hold the light, but it depends on the size of your gloves and how you hold things. Long lasting light? Definitive. If your dives don't last 4 hours, you can complete three dives on a single battery charge. User friendliness? Absolutely. It's a light, so aim it where you want it. Install the canister where you can reach the light mode switch and control the brightness. Perfect for a boat but to be honest I've used it for shore diving and haven't had any issues that a clip on device couldn't solve.

Pros
  • 150m Diving: Thickened aircraft-grade aluminum alloy with laminated O-rings and 4mm thick tempered glass lens resists submersion up to 200m, which is especially suitable for professional deep diving.
