Good straight knife for the money.
Get 4 knives. Not the sharpest knives (like my kitchen knives) but they were sharp except for one. One had a much more pronounced ruffled edge. All had a small, ruffled edge that could be felt with the edge of a thumbnail, but one was very pronounced. It took an inexpensive standard knife sharpener, whetstone and about 10 minutes and the knives had a good edge to make them some of the nicest everyday knives I've ever had. They cost money.
