The lever broke on the first test
I was happy to give this to my wife's mother. When it arrived I took it out of its packaging (which ironically was just as difficult to open as a hard can) to put in the batteries. Once the batteries were in, I tested them on a plastic rice can. THE FIRST USE OF THE PLASTIC JAR THE HANDLE BROKE OFF which wasn't particularly difficult. I will return it (I wanted something that will at least open a can).
