I have a Coleman Model 424 stove that I have been unable to pressurize the tank. I disassembled the pump and guessed that the rubber piston had completely deteriorated (it's pretty hard, but it should be soft and pliable). I have had this stove for over 20 years and have cooked hundreds of dishes. It's been to swap meets, concerts, campgrounds, and Burning Man many times (way back when Burn was really cool and hardcore). The memory value of a stove is far higher than the price of buying a new stove. This replacement pump worked 100% and was easy to install. Now I know that sometimes the piston needs lubrication. I'm already looking forward to my next hike!
