It must have been defective... contacted Revain and they offered to get in touch with Le Creuset... described what happened to Le Creuset... namely, that the first time we used it we put a roast on it and put it in the oven and after a few minutes there was a pop and we opened the oven and found the dish split in two...they asked for some photos from different angles. word…sent another email and tried calling unsuccessfully…told Revain about his experience and they thankfully processed a full refund and said they would look into this with the supplier of the product.
