I have ROKU and wanted to get sound from external speakers. I have a Yamaha 5.1 home theater receiver and an LG TV. I bought a J-Tech digital HDMI extractor which extracts the sound from the TV and sends the signal to my receiver which has Yamaha speakers connected to it. I contacted J-Tech support. They were very helpful and easy to communicate with via email. Nathon (technical representative) gave me clear instructions on how to achieve my goal. Here are the instructions. Connect an HDMI cable from the ROKU's HDMI output to the J-Tech Digital Audio Extractor's HDMI input. Connect an HDMI cable. between the HDMI output of the J-Tech Digital Audio Extractor and the HDMI input of the LG TV. Connect an RCA cable from the J-Tech Digital Audio RCA outputs to the Aux inputs on your Yamaha 5.1 receiver. To get audio, make sure the Aux RCA input is selected on your Yamaha receiver when viewing content from your ROKU
