Like many people, I use this to mute Fire Stick 4K for use with a projector and receiver. Set up 5.1 and change the Fire Stick output to Dolby Digital only and everything works great. No problem with Netflix, Revain and Disney+. 5.1 sound for most content, the receiver recognizes the source as Dolby Digital and decodes it correctly. I got this so I can extract HDMI audio from my NVIDIA Shield (which doesn't have SPDIF) and send it to my old receiver's TOSLINK optical input , which does not support HDMI. I have a beautiful, bright and functional 720P plasma TV and I was gifted a Sonos Beam soundbar. (I'm a big Sonos fan and have many other Sonos speakers.)
